Doreen Millichamp was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She now resides in Gimli, Manitoba with her husband. Her two sons live in Winnipeg. Since retiring she has become a member of the Gimli Art Club and the Gimli Fish & Wildlife Club. Doreen is a member of The Lake Winnipeg Writers Group and has had a number of children's stories and poems included in their printed anthology, Voices. Her children's stories have also appeared in several Manitoba newspapers. McNally Robinson's Bookstore, Winnipeg, launched The Campfire Boys children’s novel with great success. Doreen is presenting her work through “Meet the Author” and readings of Picking Worms at various Interlake schools and bookstores. Picking Worms, is the first printed novel of her series, The Campfire Boys. The material for The Campfire Boys originated from her childhood experiences of camping and fishing.
